Zinedine Zidane Names His Preferred Footballer to Win the Ballon d’Or

Former Real Madrid coach, and France captain Zinedine Zidane has named fellow France striker, Karim Benzema as his favourite player to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Bezima was part of the 30 nominees that was announced by France Football earlier this month after being nominated for the award, though it wasn’t his first time of being nominated for Ballon d’Or but failed to claim the title.

 

Zinedine Zidane (ZZ) was speaking to a French outlet Telefoot, gave kudos to the work rate that Benzema gives while he is on the pitch for both club and country, following scoring 30 times for Madrid last term band four time at Euro 2020., in his words;

Benzema deserves the Ballon d’Or. He’s an incredible player, I’ve had the great honour of managing him. He can do it all on a pitch. He’s a cut above, and I hope he’ll b rewarded for it with this Ballon d’Or.

 

Benzema has been an important and influential player  for French team since returning back to the team after six years. He was part of the France team that won the UEFA Nations League against Spain where team mate Raphaël varane picked up a groin muscle injury.
