The executive governor of Zamfara State, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has gifted over 260 cars, including expensive Cadillacs, to over 260 monarchs / traditional rulers in the state.

The cars were distributed in an event which was held at the Government House, Gusau on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, which had Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, as its special guest of honour.
The Sultan praised and thanked Governor Matawalle for this kind gesture and his interest in the welfare of the traditional institution, which he said still remains the thread that holds society together.
Sultan on that note, charged the beneficiaries of the gesture to continue supporting the administration of Governor Matawalle by rendering their best in ending the challenges facing the people.

In a thank you note, Gov. Matawalle who describes the traditional rulers in his state as vehicle of cohesion and peace in societies, explained that vehicles were distributed as kind gesture in recognition of the status of the traditional institution as the custodians of religion and culture. In his words, the governor said;
“It is in view of the high esteem with which my administration regards our traditional leaders and institutions that we decided to procure brand new cars, Cadillac 2019 Model, for 17 Emirs, 13 Senior District Heads and 230 District Heads across the State.”
