
Police in Edo state have confirmed through Mr Phillip Ogbadu, the State Commissioner of Police, that 5 vehicles and bags of cash of about ₦37m have been recovered from the daredevil armed robbers who invaded and robbed multiple banks at Uromi on Thursday .

Mr Ogbadu disclosed this in a phone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, adding that the command suspected that the robbers might have abandoned the monies and the vehicles when they realized that the police were on their trail.
Recall that LatestNGnews.com reported that Ubiaja youths were able to block Ubiaja Road by the rail line. This forced the robbers to abandon their cash- ladden vehicles off the rail line and flee on motorcycles.

NAN reports that dare devil armed robbers had late Thursday evening carried out what many persons had termed coordinated armed robbery attacks on some commercial banks in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo.
According to some eye witnesses lasted for more than two hours. NAN further reports that the Edo Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu had earlier on Friday paid an on the spot assessment visit to the Uromi.
