A video has surfaced online, showing the moment when a few Ukrainians alongside foreigners living in their country, including Nigerians and other African nationals, converged at the Poland border, as they run for safety.  

 

It will be assumed that the convergence started as the invasion of Russia into Ukraine escalated, but a video clip of the mammoth crowd was shared online on Saturday evening, February 26.

 

 

It was gathered that at the border, only women and children are currently being granted access to Poland as of the time of filing this report, but earlier reports across social media, red that Africans were least in priority in gaining access into Poland

 

 

Officials of the Nigerian Embassy in Poland say they are currently at the border to facilitate the process for Nigerians in Ukraine to cross into Poland for safety.

 

 

This is coming after Ukraine declared martial law across the nation and mandated that all male citizens between ages 18 – 60 should not leave until the country, and they should join the fight.
