Victor Osimhen Injured with fractured eye socket and cheekbone, Ruled out for 3 Months

Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles and of Napoli football club of Italy striker have been ruled out for three months, after he fractured his eye socket and cheekbone. 

The 22-year old striker who won the October edition of the Serie A Player of the Month in Napoli went head to head with Inter Milan’s center-back Milan Škriniar.

 
 

Napoli said on Tuesday, November 23, that the striker has undergone surgery on the injury, and is expected to be out of action till February 2022.

 
 
 

‘On Tuesday morning, Victor Osimhen was operated on his cheekbone and eye socket by Gianpaolo Tartaro, who was assisted by Dr Mario Santagata with Dr Raffaele Canonico also present,’ Napoli announced on social media.

 
 

‘Titanium plates and screws were used in the operation. The player is doing well and will remain under observation for the next few days.

 
 
 

As a result of this, the Super Eagles of Nigeria with be playing the AFCON without Victor Osimhen who was indeed a key player in the qualification of Eagles to World Cup Play-Offs and also netting 5 times in the AFCON qualifying matches

 
 
 

Since the start of this season, Osimhen has been at the top of his game, scoring nine times in 14 appearances for Napoli, and helping his club side top the Italian Serie A .

 
 

Truly, his injury serves as a devastating blow for the Serie A leaders, who top the table by goal difference after 13 games.
