The Nigerian Super Eagles is now one step closer to securing Nigeria’s spot at the World Cup play-offs after the team beat their opponent 2 – 0 at The Tanger Stadium, Morocco this evening. First and second extra-time penalty kicks by both Victor Osimhen and Ahmed Musa sealed the Eagles win.
Victor Osimhen who won Serie A Player of the Month in Napoli in the month of October was brought down by the Liberian goalkeeper which won the Super Eagles a penalty kick. Without wasting much time, Osimhen converted it to a goal just 15 minutes into the game, thereby gving the Super Eagles an Early lead into the game.
In the second half, Substitute and captain Ahmed Musa scored the second goal for Nigeria, another penalty, with four minutes left to go in the match to give Nigeria a 2-0 victory.
The Eagles will need at least a draw in their last match against Cape Verde on Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, Nigeria if they are to qualify for the World Cup play-off.
It was expected that the Super Eagles will increase their lead, because they dominated most of the plays, but the match ended with a 2-0 for the Nigerian Super Eagles.
