Unknown Assailants Sets Vehicle Carrying Tomatoes For Violating Sit-at-home Order

A taxi bus popularly known as kabukabu filled with a load full of  tomatoes, vegetables and other perishable food items was set ablaze by some hoodlums on Monday, the 27th of September in Enugu state.

Latestnewsng.com correspondent gathered that the bus which was set ablaze by assailants was in violating Mondays’ sit-at-home order in the South East Region, that has been going on in the region since the arrest of their Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

 

The sit-at-home order has been abolished by the government and the IPOB leaders but it is still being observed in the south eastern states.

According to reports, the incident occurred at Edem junction, Ibeagwa, Nike, in the Enugu East Local Government Area of the State around in the early hours of Monday, September 27, 2021.

 

Eyewitnesses said the act was carried out by people believed to be enforcing the  sit-at-home order. The vehicle that was set ablaze was said to have been coming back from the Ugwogo end of the Opi/Enugu bypass when it was blocked and set on fire.

 

Sympathizers were said to have called the State Fire Service, prompting a quick response by the Ogui Road fire service station.
