The federal government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Power, has said that the cause of the national power grid collapse is currently being investigated, and a the situation will be rectified as soon as possible.

 

Ministry of power made these statement in its bid to apologize to Nigerians and to assure them that all hands are on deck on figuring out the root cause of this second collapse of the national power grid, barely 1month it was fixed.

 

The Minister of Power, Mr Abubakar Aliyu, gave these assurance in a statement released on Saturday, April 9, by his special Adviser on media, Mr Isa Sanusi, who noted that some sections of the national grid had been energized already and supply restored to consumers.

 

“We wish to notify the general public of the incidence of a system collapse which occurred at 18:30hrs on April 8, resulting in power outages in many parts of the country.

 

 

 

” A detailed investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the recurring grid failure is currently ongoing by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and System Operator of the national grid.

 

 

“We wish to assure Nigerians that the Federal Government is working assiduously to deliver on the much-needed reforms and investments,” – The statement reads.
