Captain Ahmed Musa Donates 2m to Kingsley Obiekwu

Nigerian Super Eagles Captain, Ahmaed Musa, has gifted sum of ₦2m to Kingsley Obiekwu, a former Super Eagles player and Atlanta 96 Gold Medalist who turned taxi driver in Enugu state.

Kingsley Obiekwu’s sad condition was made public, after media personality, Okwuluora, shared a picture of him loading a car at popular Abakpa Motor Park in Ebugu, he then made a post about it on his platform, saying;

At Abakpa Motor Park, I saw former Super Eagles Defender Kingsley Obiekwu(Shagari Udoji) loading buses and driving Sienna to Nsukka. I hugged and greeted him then cried like a man. Life can be cruel Yes.

He never made it to the highest level Yes but where are his teammates. I will tell Kanu Nwankwo about this. They won Olympics together in Atlanta. Obiekwu last made headline when his younger brother died in the field of play.

A NATIONAL HERO, AN IDOL TO MILLIONS, AN OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST. We can help lift him again IF he is willing. That environment is not for him.

The post went viral, which caught the attention of Super Eagle’s captain, Ahmed Musa. He donated the sum of ₦2m to him. Okwuluora after a day or 2, posted an update which read;

Kingsley Obiekwu Called me now to confirm alert of N2,000,000 from Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa❤❤❤

Obiekwu played for Rangers International FC, Enugu and Udoji United in his days. He attributed his financial difficulties to debts owed him by several clubs.
