Senator Shehu Sani Commends Youths on Peaceful #NoMoreBloodshed Protest

Senator Shehu Sani has commended the youth of the several northern sates in Nigeria for conducting a peaceful #NoMoreBloodshed protest on the streets of the FCT, including other Northern states like Sokoto, Kano, Bauchi and Zamfara.

 
 
 

The former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central District at the 8th Assembly took to his twitter page to commend the actions the youths on how peaceful and organized they marched with their placards. In his words, the senator wrote;

 
 

The peaceful protest embarked upon by some northern youths against insecurity in Northern Nigeria is commendable. Protest is a fundamental right. The daily bloodletting, kidnappings & sorrow is condemnable & intolerable. The protesters should rather be protected by security agencies.

 
 

Some of the northern youths who took to the mirco-blogging space to express their sadness over the killings that has rocked several northern states in December alone, responded to the praise by Senator Sani saying;

 
 

“The Buhari regime want people to stay in their houses & be slaughtered or kidnapped by the armed bandits who are their agents”.

 
 
 
 

“Northern Youths should fill d streets & demand for our rights to be protected by the Nigerian government. Protest is a constitutional rights in Nigeria”.

 

However, LatestNGnews.com reported that Zainab Naseer Ahmad, one of the conveners of the Friday #NoMoreBloodshed protest was later invited by the DSS and she later took to her Facebook page to announce that she has withdrawn from the protest and advised others to do the same.
