The second and third batches of Nigerians who fled Ukraine after it was invaded by the Russians, have landed in Abuja.
Flights conveying these returnees landed at separate times on Friday, afternoon and night, according to tweets by Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
The Nigerians were flown in from Budapest, Hungary, which shares borders with Ukraine, and an update posted by NiDCOM reads;
Air Peace Boeing 777-300 flight (APK 7534) arrived Budapest, today to commence the evacuation of 2nd batch of Nigerians from Hungary The return flight is scheduled to depart Budapest at 1400hrs.
With the first, second and third batches of returnees, which have been promised a $100 (48,000) support package, Nigeria becomes the First in Africa & 2nd country in the world to organize a chartered flight for her citizens.
