Suspected phone thief beaten to pulp in Bayelsa

A yet to be identified man has been a local kind of justice after he came into a woman’s shop, stole her phone and made away with it, in Azikoro community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to a social media post made by one Master Igwe Yenevie, disclosed that suspect disguised as if he’s coming to buy something, walked into the shop which he said belonged to his mother, stole the phone, and was caught same day along Azikoro Road. 

 

In his post which he shared on Friday, Igwe Yenevie also said that the man has been handed over to the police, but according to the images he shared, it was obvious that the villagers beat the man before handing him over to the police. His post reads;

 

“This young man name unidentified, an indigene of Delta /Rivers state, presently living at Akenfa community, narrowly escaped death at Azikoro town between the hours of 2:3pm yesterday afternoon.

He stole tecno phone at Agbura in my mom shop and was caught walking along Azikoro town same yesterday. He is been arrested and taken to Azikoro police station.
