Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), to Begin an Investigation Constantine Hatzidakis for Elbowing Andy Robertson, during Liverpool vs Arsenal match (video)

The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) has announced that the body will launch an  investigation on linesman Constantine Hatzidakis for reportedly elbowing Liverpool defender, Andy Robertson, during during a fierce 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened when the Scottish international and Liverpool’s left-back was making an attempt to speak to the official, television pictures seemed to show Hatzidakis raise his right elbow and make contact with Rebertson. 

 

Skysports who is a major media outlet that covers the EPL, reported that Robertson alleged the official had elbowed him in the throat upon entering the tunnel at half-time, with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson reportedly complaining to referee Paul Tierney. In a widely reported statement issued shortly before full-time, the body said:

“PGMOL is aware of an incident involving assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis and Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson at half-time during the Liverpool v Arsenal fixture at Anfield. “We will review the matter in full once the game has concluded.”

 

The game ended 2-2 draw at Anfield, with the Reds recovering from a 2 goals down, to settle for a draw, with a crucial goal from Brazilian forward, Roberto Firmino, who came on at the second half, to convert a cross from Alexander-Arnold, score a crucial header goal, 3 minutes to stoppage time.
