Police Bans the use of Banger and Fireworks During Christmas Celebrations in Delta

Nigerian police has reaffirmed their reediness to maintain peace and security in Delta State. This was confirmed by the state Commissioner of Police CP Ari Muhammed Ali on Thursday.

 
 
 
 

Muhammed announced that the earlier ban on the use of fireworks is still in force, he also maintained that the Command will enforce its force in full extent to arresting and detaining any defaulters. In his words;

 
 
 

The use of fireworks such as ‘knock-out’, ‘banger’, etc; especially during this Yuletide season is not allowed, parents and guardians are advised to guide their children and wards to desist from using them.

 
 
 

The Commissioner of police equally warned retailers of such goods to “withdraw from the sales of these products as anyone arrested will be prosecuted”.

 
 
 
 

The commissioner directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police officers and Tactical Commanders to ensure strict compliance with the ban on fireworks in their respective areas of responsibility. He disclosed that undercover police operatives have been deployed for the purpose of arresting anyone found wanting.

 
 
 

The CP while assuring residents of their safety at all times also called on residents to continue to partner with the police and other security agencies by providing useful information in their efforts at providing a peaceful and secured environment for all.
