
The Anambra state police command has arrested Hon. Mbazulike Iloka, the suspended Nnewi North Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, over allegations of being involved in the death of his wife, Mrs Chidiebere Iloka, whom several people believed was a victim of abusive marriage.

Hon. Mbazulike Iloka, who was sworn in as chairman of the local government area, by Governor Soludo on August 2, lasted less than a week in the office before he was suspended, after it came to light that he was an abusive husband. According to the suspension letter, he is to make himself fully available through out the investigation period, while he relinquish his new office till further notice.
The embattled chairman has however, denied the claims saying that he didn’t hit his late wife. According to him, she slipped and fell, while bringing food to him, hitting her head on a concrete wall. In a separate video interview granted to Anaedo Online, he claimed he was not at home when it all began.
Police sources say the suspended chairman who is popularly known as Mba Mba is currently being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Awka, Anambra State, under charges of culpable homicide.
