Paris Saint Germain Wins 10th French League 1 Trophy After 1 1 Draw at Home

πŸ† Two league champions were crowned on Saturday evening as both Bayern Munich and PSG secured domestic glory in front of their thousands of fans who shared them to glory.

 

Besides Bayern Munich who lifted their 10th Bundesliga trophy in a row (between 2012-2022) PSG lifted their 10th League 1 trophy despite being held at a 1-1 draw by 10 man RC Lens who’s center back, Kevin Danso, was punished with a second yellow card at the 57th minute of the game.

 

 

PSG who ended the game with 78 points, 16 ahead of second-placed Olympique de Marseille, secured their 10th League 1 title after Lionel Messi’s 69th minute goal was cancelled by Corentin Jean at the the 88th minute.

 

 

Despite wining the title in a fashion way, the fans were still not happy with the team’s performance for this season, as several of them were seen leaving the Parc des Princes. Team captain, Marcos AoΓ‘s CorrΓͺa, fondly known as Marquinhos, who spoke to Canal+ shortly after the game said;

 

 

β€œThe atmosphere is a shame,” Football is our passion, we started very young. We’ll try to have as much fun as possible. It’s a shame that won’t be with the supporters but we have to deal with it.”

 

 

PSG secured their 10th League 1 trophy to equal the record set by St Etienne, who won 10 top flight titles between 1957 and 1981. They have also won eight of the last 10 Ligue 1 titles, having only been denied by Monaco in 2017 and Lille last year.

 

 

Attention in the French capital will now turn to the future of Kylian Mbappe, with the star forward still to decide whether to stay at PSG or leave for Real Madrid before next season.
