Oyo State Community Seals IBEDC Office Over Poor Services and Price Hike of Electricity Bills

Disappointed and angered residents of Okeho town in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, have sealed of the branch office of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

According to the residents who took their anger to the office of the company, said that they finally took action after a long and endured poor services of the company in their community, which were made all worse with the continual hike in electricity bill.

 

 

Dailypost reported that the office was sealed on early hours of Tuesday, adding that the according to youths, residents and other stakeholders in the state, the office would remain closed till further notice.

In the defense of the company, the head media of relations of IBEDC, Busola Tunwase, while speaking with Dailypost, said the problem has to do with low supply of electricity. She said that the company had met the residents to appeal to them. Tunwase said,

 

“I am aware. It has to do with supply and it is not an IBEDC fault. “We just explained to them. We have appealed to them. What we don’t have, we can’t give it. It is not just Okeho. The supply is just poor.

 

“We have begged them, we have apologized. We have had a meeting with them. We just have to explain further.”
