The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Friday, 4th March, 2022, appointed Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, as an ‘ambassador of war against drug abuse (WADA)’ in Lagos motor parks.

 

The development had since then sparked some controversies among Nigerians home and abroad, who took to several social media platforms to share their opinion as they see fit.

 

 

Popular Nigerian medical doctor in the UK, Dr, Harvey Olufunmilayo, otherwise known to many as OurFavOnlineDr, has wondered if the appointed given to MC Oluomo was a dumb move or smart move.

 

 

He shared his opinion via series of tweet he made on his twitter handle on Saturday morning, he said he laughed when he saw the news on Friday, but had a second thought where he thought of the appointment as a smart move. 

 

In his words; he tweeted saying;

NDLEA has made MC Oluomo an “ambassador” in the war against drugs. At first, I laughed it off as a terrible joke. But on second thoughts,

 

 

I had a rethink and saw this could potentially be a good move. Potentially. Pls hear me out. You don’t have to agree with me. But read on.

 

 

How do you really expect the very head of these local drivers who engage in illicit drug use on a daily basis will be a fit and proper “ambassador”?

 

 

Again I will admit. On surface analysis and first glance, it looks ridiculous. But not when you really think about this deeply. Now think about it:

 

Someone who heads these garages, who interacts with these drivers and street urchins, who knows the in-and-out of how things work in these trenches is actually the ***best*** person to be an ambassador for the NDLEA to these people. IF he is truly committed.
