On that note has declared that Wednesday, September 29, 2021, as the “IGBO DAY OF MOURNING”. Which comes 2 days before Oct 1, the day IPOB has declared a sit at home in the entire south east region.

Ohanaeze Ndi, through Comrade Temple Chika Igbo, National Publicity Secretary of this Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization made this known in a statement on Tuesday stating clearly that the earlier scheduled Igbo Day celebration has been cancelled and replace with ‘Igbo Day of Mourning’ with the theme “Ozoemena”.

It could be recalled that the Igbo Day Celebration is usually celebrated annually on 29th September in Enugu and Awka, Anambra State, but according to the group, this year’s edition would not hold.
