An unidentified man has met his judgment where he was vandalizing electric cables from an electric pole that is in Kobape community in Obafemi/Owode local government area of Ogun State.

 
 
 

The man who’s identity is yet to be unmasked was suspected to have died on Saturday night, because residents of the area woke up on a Sunday morning and saw his lifeless body on top of the electric pole.

 
 

Residents who spoke to LatestNGnews reports, hinted that the deceased was not from around the area, as no one knew him and his intentions for climbing the electric pole was undecided yet.

 

Some said he went up there to take his own life while some hinted that he’s probably a cable thief, after the officials of the IBEDC covering the area arrived the scene and failed to identify the man as their official.

 

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident to newsmen, stating that the man had attempted to steal electricity cables. In his words;

 
 

“The man climbed the pole, possibly he wanted to steal the wires. I don’t think he wanted to commit suicide, because he has cut some of the wires. If he wanted to commit suicide, he only needed to climb the pole and hold the naked wire,” 

 
 

“According to the information at my disposal, he has cut some of the wires. Maybe there was sudden power supply when he was cutting the cables,” His corpse has been removed by the police while the case is still being investigated. –  Abimbola Oyeyemi concluded.
