Veteran Nigerian Nollywood actor, and laywer, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O Kanayo, has taken to his social media page to beg President Muhammadu Buhari for one favour.

 

The actor who marked his 60th birthday on March 1, while speaking on Wednesday, Kanayo begged Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

 

According to him, the sit-at-home imposed by Kanu’s group has crippled economic activities in the Southeast and will have a ripple effect across states soon.

 

Kanu has spent over 8 months in detention since he was arrested and brought to Nigeria from Kenya, and is expected to a appear in court on the8th of April 2022 for final ruling
