The Christian family of the Catholic dioceses of Nnewi is set to receive her new bishop of the dioceses on Thursday, 10th February 2022, under the shepherdship of Most Rev Jonas Benson Okoye.

 
 

Recall that LatestNGnews.com reported that Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye was appointed as the New Bishop of Nnewi Diocese in November 2021, and will be installed as the new bishop of the diocese.

 
 

Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye worked as an auxiliary bishop Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor from 2014 till his appointment as the new bishop of Nnewi Diocese.

 
 

He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1992 by Most Reverend Albert Obiefuna at Saint Andrew’s Adazi-Nnukwu.

 
 
 

2002 he was sent to continue his studies in Canon Law at Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Canada and then went from there to Lateran University, Rome where he obtained his doctorate in Canon Law.

 
 
 

He will be taking over the mantle of leadership from Most Rev Hilary Odili Okeke, who is the maiden bishop of Nnewi dioceses and served from 2002 – 2022.
