
Nigerian female weightlifter, Adijat Olarinoye, has set a new Commonwealth Games Record as she won herself a gold medal at the on Sunday morning, July 31, 2022, at the on-going Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Adijat Olarinoye who contested in the 55kg category, lifted a combined total of 203kg, to win the women’s 55kg Weightlifting event.
To set a new Games record, Adijat Olarinoye lifted 92kg in snatch and 111kg in clean and jerk, making 203kg in total in the category.
