The Nigerian Railway workers last weekend threatened that the union will embark on 3-day warning strike if their demands are not met on or before 17th November 2021.

This was disclosed in a letter titled ‘’Notice and Directive to embark on 3- day warning strike nationwide’’, which was dated November 12th and was addressed to District Chairman/Secretary Nigeria Union of Railway workers and Senior Staff Association.
As at today, 18th November 2021, the demands of the union weren’t met by the federal government and the union has commenced a 3-day warning strike which will run through Thursday, November 18 to Saturday, November 20, 2021. As a result of this development, FG is in the verge of counting ₦90m in losses.

The union of Nigerian Railway Workers as made their demands known which includes
- Better welfare of staff,
- Enhanced salary, better working environment,
- Payment of their promotional arrears,
- Demolition of their staff quarters, among other things
As a result of the industrial action, angry NUR workers ensured the gates to the NRC train platform as well as the premises of the corporation were securely locked, leaving so many passengers stranded today.
