Mr Sylvester Oromoni, father of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr., the 12-year old boy Dowen College, Lagos that was beaten by his classmates and later died due to injuries sustained from the beating, broke down in tears while he was on an interview with a reporter of Vanguard news.

In the interview which was conducted virtually via Zoom, the man was seen recounting how his son, Sylvester Oromoni Jnr., would always say that he would want to be a Pilot. According to him, he would dress as an Areoplane Pilot on every career day.

He broke down in tears and was consoled by her two daughters who were on his sides giving him moral support. Mr Oromoni also spoke on how he would be celebrating his son’s birthday today, 4th December as he would have turned 12 if he were alive.
Following the death of the boy, the management of Dowen College Lekki shutdown the school on Friday and according to an announcement published by the school, will resume after Monday, 6th December 2021. However, the Lagos state government has given an order to shutdown the school indefinitely.
