Mr Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra state, has declared his interest to contest for the office of the president of Nigeria in the coming 2023 general elections.

His declaration of interest came after his 2019 running mate, Atiku Abubakar, formerly declared interest yesterday at the international conference center in Abuja
Mr Peter Obi, made the declaration in Awka at a gathering of traditional rulers in Anambra State, where the traditional rulers prayed for him and gave him their support.
Some netizens argued that Igbos should stop politicizing Nigeria, unite themselves and focus of the actualization of Biafran sovereign state.

However, second checks moments later, revealed that the formner Anambra state governor, had made an official notice on his handle, in a tweet which reads;
Dear Nigerians. I am here to inform you all that I will be aspiring for the post of President of Nigeria in 2023. -PO
