Mercedes Tipper Kills 1 in Ufuma, Anambra State, Injures Keke Driver and Passengers 

It was a sad day for the family of a yet to be properly identified woman who lost her life in a gastric accident which happened in Ufuma, Anambra state, on Friday, 7th January 2021.

According to eyewitness, the accident involved a commercial yellow tricycle, ordinarily known as keke with reg number, NNK313QL and a 911 Mercedes tipper with reg number XF814AWK.

 
 
 

1 person (adult female) a passenger in the Keke, died from the accident while 4 others were seriously injured. Eyewitnesses confimed to LatestNGnews.com that the tipper was speeding and lost control, then used the keke was wedge.

 
 
 

The Anambra state FRSC confirmed the accident to the press in a statement titled, FIRST INFORMATION REPORT OF A FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC CRASH AT UFUMA BY EKWULOBIA-UFUMA ROAD”  which was signed the sector commandant, Adeoye Irelewuyi and released by the DRC Margaret B Onabe, Ag, Sector Public Education Officer FRSC which reads;

A Fatal Road traffic crash Occurred at Ufuma by Ekwulobia-Ufuma Road today, 7th January 2022, At about 14:30hours. The crash was between two vehicles. An unidentified driver of a custom Mercedes 911 with registration number: XF814AWK, And unidentified driver of a yellow Tricycle with registration number: NNK313QL.

 
 

The probable cause of the fatal crash was attributed to excessive speed. According to an eyewitness report, the Mercedes 911 was on speed, lost control and rammed into the tricycle and crashed. 5 persons comprising (2 male adults, and 3 female adults were involved in the crash

 
 

Number of injured: 2 male adults and two female adults, Number killed: 1 female adult (tricycle passenger). As at the time of filling this report, the injured victims were rushed to Queenies Hospital Ufuma were one female adult was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. The corpse of the dead victim was deposited at Ajali mortuary, by FRSC rescue team.

 
 

The FRSC rescue team managed traffic and cleared obstruction caused. The vehicles were handed over to Ajali Police Division.  The Sector Commander Anambra State *Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi* commiserate with the family of the dead victim, and wishes the injured victims quick recovery.

 

He seriously warned Motoring public to desist from excessive speed and maintain Safe speed limits. Traffic rules and regulations must be obeyed at all times.
