Leon Edwards wins UFC Champion

Nigerian professional mixed martial artist, Kamarudeen Usman, has lost his championship after he was K.O by Britain’s Leon Edwards in a epic battle on Saturday night, at Vivint Arena, in Salt Lake City. This feat by the Jamaican-born British professional mixed martial artist made him the UK’s second ever UFC champion, after Michael Bisping

Leon Edwards who was first defeated by Kamaru in 2015, had his sweet revenge and victory last night, after he landed a vicious kick that sent Usman dashing to the canvas with just seconds left of the clash, ending Kamaru’s 19-fight win streak that made him became the UFC’s pound-for-pound king in the years that followed.

After receiving the belt as the new UFC welterweight champion, Leon Edwards said,

“I feel great. They all said I couldn’t do it, they all said I couldn’t do it. Look at me now. “It doesn’t matter. From the trenches. I’m built like this. I go until the final bell. Pound-for-pound, head shot, dead.

“I told you we could win a belt from the UK, now look at me. There is no pound-for-pound, the belt belongs to nobody. “I told you, mum, I’d change our lives. World champion, world champion, look at me now. I was born in Jamaica with nothing. I lived in a wood shack with a zinc roof.”

Reacting to his loss, Usman made 2 tweets stating clearly he still love the sports despite being K.O.ed few seconds in the last round, and  congratulated the new UFC champion, Leon Edwards, he said;

Champs f$ck up sometimes… but we bounce back and come with vengeance!! 👊🏿🌍🤴🏿 #NGHTMR,
