Katsina man Saidu Faskari Looses his house Roofing in order to Raise Ransom money he will pay to Bandits who Kidnapped his son (Photos)

An Hausa man from Katsina state identified as Saidu Faskari, has reportedly removed the zinc roofing sheets of his home which he intends to sell so as to raise a ₦100,000 ransom he will pay to kidnappers who has been holding his eldest son hostage.

According to several reports from twitter and facebook, Saidu Faskari, was kidnapped in December 2021 and spent 13 days in the kidnappers den. A ransom of ₦50,000 was demanded for his release, which his son was able to raise within the time Saidu was held hostage.

 
 

When his son went to pay the ₦50,000 ransom, the bandits in the hopes of securing the release of his old man, the bandits kidnapped his son and is now demanding ₦100,000 for his release.

 
 

In a video clip which was shared online, Saidu Faskari was heard saying;

“They (bandits) kidnapped my son day before yesterday (Thursday). He had gone to pay the ransom money for my release. I spent 13 days in their den.

 
 

When my children gathered the ₦50,000 one of my sons was asked to take the ransom but the bandits released me and apprehended him. I don’t even have what to eat not to talk of the money to go and pay ransom.” 


 

Saidu who said he is a local farmer, is from one of the local government which is considered as one of the hot zones for bandits’ attacks and was among the 13 local government where mobile telecommunications network was shut down by Governor Aminu Masari as part of efforts to curtail insecurity.

 
 

Video of the farmer removing his roof was posted by a Katsina Daily Post News correspondent, Ibrahim Bawa.
