The Federal Government of Nigeria on Monday, 17th January 2022, filed a fresh terrorism charges against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

In the amended process it filed before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, the government increased the counts in the initial charge it preferred against Kanu.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who was charged by the FG of 7 charges of treason and terrorism has been in detention since his alleged abduction from Kenya and forceful return to Nigeria.

With this new amended and fresh charges filled against him by the FG, Kanu will now enter his fresh plea to 15 amended charges marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, M. B. Abubakar.
The charges were amended barely 24 hours before the scheduled commencement of hearing by trial Justice Binta Nyako, after an emergency hearing on December 2nd, 2021.
