The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has issued a Certificate of Return, CoR, to Ademola Adeleke, the Osun State governor-elect.

 

This is coming after Ademola’s nephew, Davido, called INEC to issue his own his well deserved CoR according to the law, though INEC, through Festus Okoye, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, explained to the singer that the stipulated time for issuing CoR is 14days.

 

Ademola Adeleke defeated the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the APC, and 13 other governorship candidates in the election which was held on Saturday, July 16.

 

 

Though president Buhari has congratulated the governor-elect, the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola has reportedly hired 50 lawyers that he plans using to challenge Ademola’s victory in court.
