According to the ex- Nigeria striker,- Victor Ikpeba, the Super Eagles are not the best African team at the moment, he said this due to the fact that the three-time African champions were shocked to a 1-0 loss by the lowly Central African Republic at home at their home stadium in Abuja before they avenged their loss with a shocking winning 2-0 three days later, away in Douala, Cameroon.
Despite topping Group C and looking set to qualify for the next round, Ikpeba while talking to he told Complete Sports showed his concerns that Nigeria cannot dominate African football except some serious positive changes is done to the team and management. In his words,
“I have always said that this team can win the Nations Cup but we are not the best when it comes to African Football right now. “At this point, we have to beat Cape Verde because the destiny is in our hands. “We don’t have the team to dominate African football but we have the team to qualify for the World Cup,”
