The Ijaw Youth Council has announced that the body will be holding an evening candle light vigil in honour of young Sylvester Oromoni, the 12-year old Down college student who died after series of injuries inflicted on him by his school mates for refusing to join their cult.

 
 
 

The announcement of the candle light vigil was shared by one Perrie with the handle @perrisonoromoni stating that the vigil will hold on the evening of Tuesday, 7th December 2021.

 
 

The announcement reads in parts;

the President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYCI Worldwide (Comr. Peter timothy Igbifa GCPA. CPIN on behalf of the 8th National executive Council has declared tomorrow the 7th day of December. 2021 as candle light by 7pm in honour of our young star, late Sylvester Oromoni Jr who was bullied to death right in the campus of Dowen College. Lagos State. tomorrow Tuesday the 7th of December. 2021 will make it seven days since he died,

The President hereby call on all Ijaw youths home and abroad to light up candles at your location to show our unalloyed solidarity while expressing our total displeasure over that dastardly am. Every one Ijaw life is worth more than gold. It is sorry painful but we pray that the Almighty God will grant him solace in Ills bosom. while the family finds grace to bear this great loss.
