Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel to Mazi Namdi Kanu has called on the court to sanction the Department of State Services for grossly disobeying the an official court order given by Justice Binta Nyako at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, 2nd December 2021.

At the emergency court hearing, Justice Binta Nyako at the Federal High Court ruled that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should be allowed to interact with order detainees and inmates in the facility, and should fed, allowed to change his clothes, move freely, practice his Jewish faith among others.

However, counsel Ejiofor in a statement after his routine visit to Nnamdi Kanu, disclosed that the operatives of the DSS has been punishing his client for daring to speak out and complain complain about their inhumane actions towards him at the last court hearing, in one of which he confronted one of the DSS operatives.
According to barrister Ejiofor, his client is still being starved, denied change of clothes, denied his medical reports even after taking his blood samples for 21 times, which he describes as “unfortunate and worrisome”, pointing out the DSS has “unrepentantly continued to treat the orders of the court with greatest disdain.”.
