The ministry of defense came out to defend the claim and denied every allegation that Maj. Gen. Salihi Magaji (rtd) was going around with AK 47. The ministry further went ahead to reveal the Identity of the Army official with AK47 as Rector of the Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology (NACEST) Makurdi and not the Minister of Defence, Major General Salihi Magashi (rtd), as speculated.

For a quick recap: After a video clip of an army official entering a car with AK 47 went viral, there were speculations that the unidentified man was Minister of Defense, Maj. Gen. Salihi Magaji (rtd). Meaning that the military that are supposed to protect the citizens are now seen going about their businesses with a handon AK 47 riffle.
