I would’ve being a victim of the Abuja-Kaduna train Attack if not for an Emergency Phone call that Delayed me — Obi of Onitsha

Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe

Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, has revealed that an emergency phone call saved saved his life, otherwise he would’ve been one of the victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train Attack that happened on Monday, March 28, 2022

The monarch decried the increasing insecurity situation in the country, adding that the attack which left some of the passengers dead, others injured and many still unaccounted for, would’ve also claimed his life, if he had boarded the train and wasn’t among the lucky ones that were rescued.

Speaking on Saturday, April 2, when Igbo leaders under the aegis of Ahamefuna Socio-cultural organization converged in Enugu, Igwe Achebe said he did not board the train because of a phone call inviting him for an emergency. He said:

“I was among the passengers meant to be on the train last Monday because I had a meeting I was supposed to be attending. I was already at the train station when I got a call over an emergency and I had to leave the station to attend to it.”
