Honour of Nnamdi Azikiwe, Tuesday Declared Public Holiday by the Anambra Government

The Government of Anambra State today, declared Tuesday 16th November 2021, as a public holiday to honour the memories of Late Zik Azikiwe, who was born on the 16th of November, 1904 and died on May 11, 1996.

This development was made public by Don Adinuba, the state commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, in a statement which he read on-behalf of the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, which reads;

 
 
 
 

“This year makes it the third year the Anambra State government would be observing the birthday anniversary., “It was the Great Zik of Africa who inspired such outstanding Pan-African leaders as Dr Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana who led his country to freedom from colonial rule on March 6, 1957”.
