An early visit on Monday by the LatestNGnews.com correspondent to the memorial site of late Sylvester Oromoni Jnr which was mounted by well meaning Nigerians at the front of his school Dowen College, Lekki, confirmed a heavy presence of the men of the Nigerian Armed forces.
Observed at the front gate as well, are some heart warming gift items sent by some Nigerians which includes flowers, teddy bears, balloons, etc., which were sent in condolences to the Oromoni Family who on Saturday, 12th December, celebrated the what would’ve Sylvester Oromoni Jnr’s 12th birthday.
Visible also, at the gate of the school, was a Lagos State Government seal, through the Office of Education Quality Assurance, which reads “SCHOOL CLOSED INDEFINTELY”.
Arm-wielding police in the area maintained that they’re not at liberty to speak to the press, but several eyewitness who spoke in anonymity confirmed that the seals were place yesterday being Sunday, 5th December 2021, between 7 and 8am.
The school had dismissed the claims made by the family of the deceased, alleging that Sylvester only sustained injuries when was playing football with his colleagues. The college had also disclosed that it was assisting relevant authorities to investigate the controversial death of the student.
However, several eyewitnesses who’re mostly minors have come out in shadows to testify that this isn’t the first case of bully in the school in the past 2 years. The eyewitnesses also disclosed that the school didn’t have any sporting activities during the week Sylvester was beaten and injured.
