There are reports of a heavy grid-lock at Onitsha, one of the metropolitan city and commercial hubs in Anambra state as many holidaymakers are retuning back to their various business base.

A report and some images which was shared by one of LatestNGnews.com correspondent who was caught in traffic jam, reads that it took about 5 hours for their bus to pass the gridlock.
Another Niraland user who has similar ordeal took to the forum to share her ordeal and anger, as she was traveling to meet up for a presentation, but her plans were challenged by the unexpected gridlock.

Posting on the forum, she said;
There’s traffic in Onitsha, Anambra State as holidaymakers in the South East return to their base. The social media user who shared the photos captioned them, saying
“Omo! People dey travel o! I’ve been in this gridlock for more than 2 hours. I’ve spent close to 5hrs traveling from Owerri to Anambra that normally takes 1 hr 45 mins.”
It will be safe to assumed that several people who returned to the east for their Christmas and new year holiday were in a haste to return back on Sunday,
so as to beat the Monday sit-at-home protest that has been going on in Anambra and some other South-Eastern states since the first court hearing of IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in 2021.
