Players of Heartland Football Club of Owerri were locked out of their various hotel rooms over non-payment of accumulated room and food bills.

This rather humiliating incident happened on Saturday morning 23 April, 2022. Several photos photos of the players looking downcast following the incident have surfaced online.

It was gathered that the players were prevented from leaving the hotel premises located at MCC- Uratta Road in Owerri until the government intervenes.

Earlier this year 2022, around January, the players of this same Heartland FC of Owerri were also seen protesting on the streets of the Owerri metropolitan city, 

They were protesting for non payment of salaries and weeks for the last 9months
