Two traditional rulers in Imo State, Eze Acho Ndukwe of Amagu Ihube and Eze Paul Ogbu of Ihitte Ihube, both in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo state have been kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday. It was reported that both of their traditional places and vehicles were razed down by their abductors.

This is coming barely 72 hours another traditional ruler, Eze Edwin Azike, the traditional ruler of the Atta ancient kingdom in the Njaba Local Government Area of was kidnapped on Thursday and murdered on Friday, leaving his lifeless body in a car for his family to fins.
One of the residents to managed to speak to LatestNGnews.com when others were fleeing the community disclosed that the gunmen came at the midnight with Hilux vehicles to carry out their operation. The source also disclosed that the youth of one the communities in Okigwe was also kidnapped.
Reports gathered by LatestNGnews.com corresponded reveals that one of the kidnapped royal fathers, Eze Ndukwe is the chairman of Council of Traditional rulers in Okigwe LGA.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, Mike Abattam, disclosed that the command had commenced an investigation into the incident.
It is still not clear why these attacks are happening and why traditional rulers in the south-east are being targeted. It is not safe to assume to anything at the moment as the authorities are still investigating.
