
Aggrieved protester of the Nigerian Labour Congress has caused heavy gridlock at the major roads leading to the Federal Secretariat, Abuja as they observe the day 2 of their solidarity march with university unions which have been on strike since February, 2022.

The protesters who’re mostly Labour Workers, civil servants in various offices and university lecturers, turned up with several posters and banners with various writings on them. One of the banners had the face of Chris Ngige, a former governor of Anambra and now the Minister of Labour, disguised as a Masquerade with a writing on it which reads;
This Okija Priest Must be Banished from our Universities, Enough is Enough.
Addressing the workers at the three arm zone, Abuja, President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Comrade Ibrahim Mohammed appealed to the Federal Government to meet demands of the unions.

Mohammed noted the university system couldn’t continue with the way it was being funded by the government.
