Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, Bags Traditional Title In Daura as The Dan Amanar

Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, was today, 5th February 2022, conferred the traditional title of The Dan Amanar (The Trusted one), in Daura, Katsina state.

Rotimi Amaechi who is also the Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, had his turbaning ceremony as the Ɗan Amanar Daura on Saturday in Katsina State, and was attended by several dignitaries, including a delegation sent by President Muhammadu Buhari.

 
 

ChannelsTv reported that president lauded the conferment of Daura chieftaincy titles on Amaechi – in a statement, and a reputable businessman, Nasiru Haladu Danu. Alhaji Danu is being turbaned as Tafida Babba of Daura.

 
 

In the statement, the president, described the conferment of the title of “Dan Amana” (the trusted one) on Amaechi as a clear commitment to the harmonious relationship between the nation’s diversity and culture.

He commended the Minister “for working with enormous energy to make the change we promised Nigerians a reality,” noting that “the change we are witnessing in the transport sector is an extraordinary legacy.”

 
 

President Buhari designated a delegation of three, made up of the Minister of Water Resources, Sulaiman Adamu, and his aviation counterpart, Senator Hadi Sirika, as well as the Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu, to represent him at the event.

 
 

Sources revealed to LatestNGnews.com that the decision to honour the Minister was taken in appreciation for his contribution to the siting of Federal projects in Daura Emirate of Katsina state.

 
 
 

A source close to the Emir’s palace said that among federal projects influenced by the Minister to Daura are the University of Transportation, Federal Polytechnic, Daura and the Kano to Niger rail line which will pass through Daura.
