FG Shuts Down Ijora-Olopa Bridge After Massive Cracks Were Spotted

The Federal Government of Nigerian has indefinitely shut down the Ijora-Olopa bridge, after massive bull’s eye cracks were seen on the structure. This was also confirmed by the Lagos state government on Wednesday, adding that repairs would commence asap and finished in due time.

Dr. Fredric Oladeinde who is the Lagos state Commissioner for Transportation, didn’t mention the expected timeframe for the repairs to be done, but beseech the road users to make use of the available alternate routes that are already mapped out for road users.

Motorists from Iddo heading to Ijora-Oloye/Apapa will be diverted at the intersection underpass to reconnect at the U-Turn inwards Ijora-Oloye or Apapa.

The ministry, therefore, appealed to motorists who make use of the corridor to cooperate with the state’s Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA and the interventions put in place to manage the traffic.
