FG Announces the Banning of Unvaccinated NYS Corps Members in Orientation Camps Nationwide

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the NYSC DG, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has announced that the body will deny admittance to orientation camps Nationwide to all or any unvaccinated Youth Service Corp member. The new decree is expected to take from the next orientation camp, which is a few weeks from now.

Brigadier General Shuaibu made this disclosure while addressing 2021 Batch “C” Stream Two Corps Members as well as the Camp Officials, he maintained that prospective corps members will now need to show evidence of vaccination from coronavirus before they would be allowed to register or gain admittance.

 
 

He explained that this is to curb the new wave of covid which is at all time high now, as well as to try as much as possible to save lives from the new covid-19 variant known as Omicron.

While addressing security issues, he advised corp members to adhere strictly to all security measure given in the camp,  stressing that their safety is a priority, and thus no night and unauthorized journeys beyond 6pm. In his words;

 
 

“We have NYSC Corps Lodges, Secretariats and Army barracks, find out where they are and make sure you pass the night there for journeys that will take you beyond six to get to your destination,”

 

Brigadier General Shuaibu also advised prospective corps members to make maximum use of their time and add value to themselves by acquiring as many skill as possible. He also stressed that it should be kills that would make them business owners, instead of seeking for the scarcely available salaried jobs.

 
 

On that note, Brigadier General Shuaibu concluded by warning prospective NYS corps members that there is nothing like two weeks break after leaving the Orientation Camp,
