#EndSars – Ruggedman Reveals Why Youths Take BBNaija Serious Than Government while Ruggedman was speaking in a saturday motning interview titiled Saturday Beats, Micheal Stephens, rapper and social advocate, who is popularly known as Ruggedman has hinted that young people in Nigerian are takes Big Brother show more serious because they have more to offer them than the Nigerian government.
Ruggedman while speaking on the #Endsars Memorial protest, during the interview with interview with Saturday Beats, further said the government is still in denial about the killings and shooting of peaceful protesters at Lekki Tollgate, Lagos State in October 2020, with claims that no one has come forward to claim damges of lives or properties. In his words;
“I think the only reason the Nigerian youths are so serious about BBN is because of the transparency. It is also because of the fact that they know their votes count. They also know that at the end of the day, the organisers fulfil their promises. That is why people are so serious about it. Can you say that about the Nigerian government”?
“So that is why I said the Nigerian government has a lot to prove to the people, to show transparency, to show competence, to live up to expectations and also fulfil the promises they made. The Nigerian government needs to earn the trust of the people, especially the youths”.
“Till today we are still trying to find out who shot at the protesters at the toll gate in 2020. A year after the incident, we still have not heard anything about it. There are so many things the government needs to come through with first before the youths will trust them”.
