EFCC Detains Osita Okechukwu Over Alleged Misappropriation of ₦1.3billion Public Funds

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) on Saturday detained Mr. Osita Okechukwu, the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, over a case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of ₦1.3billion.

Sources revealed that the VON boss, was invited to the headquarters of the anti-graft agency, and he honoured this invitation.

 

Sources also revealed that he arrived the EFCC in Abuja at about 1.30pm but was not allowed to go home, thus passing the night at te EFCC headquarters.

When contacted, EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren confirmed the invitation of the VON chief executive but declined further comment.
