The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has warned that the group is not associated or affiliated to the known and the unknown gun men in any part of Nigeria who have been wrecking havoc in several location in the South-East.

 

IPOB made this known as it distant itself from the recent attack of the unknown gunmen, which happened at Nkwo Ihitte in Amakohia Ward (RA 02) of Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of Imo state, which claimed the live of 1 INEC official and several others went missing.

 

 

IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, stressed that the group is not and will never be the unknown gun men, the statement also urged the youths to unite forces and fight these unknown persons that have been perpetrating several killings in the region.

 

 

IPOB in its statement, added that these element are evil forces being used by their enemies to make sure that the IPOB does not get the freedom they’re fighting for, adding that IPOB members are civilised people and will never involved in insecurity or any form of disorderliness, going on in the south-east. The statement reads

 

 

“We want to inform the world that IPOB and Eastern Security Network (ESN) members had no hands in the attacks, contrary to baseless allegations by our enemies. We are not involved in the criminal activities of agents of darkness in our land.

 

 

“IPOB members are civilized people and are never involved in the barbarities going on in our territory. Anybody linking IPOB or ESN with these devilish activities is a blackmailer.

 

 

“IPOB members are not unknown gunmen and we cannot be. We are only after our mandate, which is to protect our communities, bushes and farms against the jihadists masquerading as herdsmen, killing, maiming and raping our mothers, wives and sisters going to farms. IPOB will no longer tolerate such nonsense.

 

 

“Indigenous communities in Nigeria must unite against these vampires now. We should not allow them to succeed in their evil mission. They know that time is running out on them. This is why they are on the prowl again.”
