Deontay Wilder Hospitalized After Taking a beating by Tyson Fury

There has been several reports that Deontay Wilder has been hospitalized after taking a beating at the hands of Tyson Fury in Las Vegas which followed with a brutal knockout to defeat for the 3rd and final time.

The American boxer was knocked down on three occasions in a fight of the year which saw Fury as a winner, retaining this titles. Furies win was secured  when referee Russell Mora  waved off immediately after Wilder was heavily floored for a third and final time in the 11th round of their fight.

 
 
 

This would be the second time Deontay Wilder is being defeated by the British boxer Fury, who not only won the match but retained his WBC titles, and the American will now undergo precautionary tests in hospital.

The 35-year-old will not be kept overnight, however, with his manager Shelly Finkel insisting Wilder is in good health. Boxing journalist Dan Rafael tweeted: ‘Was texting with Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel – ‘Said Deontay is OK and won’t be staying overnight at the hospital.’ Wilder himself did speak after the fight, insisting he wasn’t sure what went wrong.

 
 
 

‘I did my best, but it wasn’t good enough tonight,’ he said. ‘I’m not sure what happened. I know that in training he did certain things, and I also knew that he didn’t come in at 277 pounds to be a ballet dancer. ‘He came to lean on me, try to rough me up and he succeeded.’
