Nigerian singer, Davido, after he made a call to his friends to send him ₦1m each raised up to ₦200m in donations snd shocked the world by announcing that he would be donating the proceeds of the donations to the orphanage.

 
 
 

After the announcement, the singer has released guidelines several orphanages  can apply and benefit from this charity project, then comes the disbursing of the funds to orphanage homes.

 
 
 

The 29-year-old made the announcement on Instagram and Twitter on Monday, hinting that only government registered and approved orphanages would be eligible.

 

 

The afro-pop singer, few days to his 29th birthday which he celebrated in a lowkey restaurant in Dubai,  raised ₦200million from friends and fans, and virtually anyone he has ever helped in the entertainment industry.

 
 
 

He then added his ₦50million to bring the total amount raised to ₦250million, shortly before he announce the launching of “Echoke Social Token”

 
 

In a statement released on Saturday, November 20, the eve of his birthday, Davido said he would give all the money to orphanages across Nigeria.
